In 1978, the Taiyo Whales, upon moving to Yokohama Stadium (officially becoming the Yokohama Taiyo Whales), both the Hom...e and Away uniforms changed to white and blue to reflect the image of Yokohama as a port city, which they kept even when they were renamed as Yokohama BayStars in 1993.
This uniform was notably worn by Kazuhiko Endo, who won the Eiji Sawamura Award in 1983.
After moving to Yokohama, Taiyo's home uniform was worn at the "Great Central Legend Uniform Day" event held as a Central League-wide event in 2010, and later, at the club level, they were worn for an event called the 2016 We☆YOKOHAMA uniform. In this event, Daisuke Miura debuted for the BayStars with the number 46 rather than the 18 he would later wear.
